Tour de Cure w/Syracuse Bicycle on June 7, 2009 -- Verona Beach St. Pk.

Here's your chance to get in some decent training miles and/or to have a weekend with the family on the bike -- all for a great cause and to give back, have some fun and celebrate the bicycle. Five distances to choose from: 15 mi, 25 mi, 40mi, 62.5 mi (100k) & 100 mi. Would be great if the Ommegangsters get out to "represent" and support one of our major sponsors by signing onto their team.
If you aren't racing that weekend, we'll see you at Verona Beach bright and early on June 7. If you have a reasonable reason to be elsewhere, please consider a donation. Keep in mind your reason to be elsewhere will have to be voted on in the team email listserv.
(P.S. We'll be checking local race results and taking names and publicly ridiculing you if you no-show.)

We have our first 2009 Race Results Ladies & Gentlemen

Huh, what race you ask? Didn't hear about any race? Well, we're desperate for a little news here so we are branching out a bit.

It seems one of the Ommegangsters headed up to Caz for the Chilly Chili 5K run on Feb 8. And I guess he was in a hurry to sample some post race chili as he finished 4th out of 50 in his age group and 49th overall out of 1016 with sub 7-minute miles for a 21:09! Not too bad for a cyclist .. or is he a closet runner? ... or a closet XC skier?

Congrats to Jeff Walker on a great race !! Give that man an Ommegang!!

Summer Project -- é ??

Yes, it is true .... Syracuse Bicycle has brought Cervelo into it's offerings. I received a confirmation email just the other day noting that the crew at Wayne's & Meltzer's Syracuse Bicycle are excited about having Cervelo in their stable and that a few orders have already been placed. I've found that most of us fall into one of two Cervelo categories ... we either want one, or have one (... OK, or maybe have one on order).
What will be most interesting is to see who is more excited ... the local tri-geeks or the road-geeks? We all know Cervelo claims several TdF stage wins (and an overall) and numerous Classics wins (a la Fabian C) but Cervelo also has a strong triathlon history. Check-out the Top 10's at the IronMan Champs in Hawaii over the past 10+ years and you'll see what the fuss is about.
Personally, I consider the P4 the best example of bike porn possible. I hope the guys at Syracuse Bicycle have some extra shop towels in stock cause they will probably need to clean up all the drool around the P4 and it's stablemates.
Check in here for updates on Cervelo's new home in Syracuse or check out the Syracuse Bicycle website (http://syracusebicycle.com/) or oh yeah, just stop by the shop.
