Greene CX & New England Action

After a year off, Greene CX was back....and so was that damn hill.  The course followed fairly familiar territory with a few modifications to account for the improvements and construction work at the school.  The familiar parts included the (sorta) 1/4 pipe down along the road, the sections twisting on the lower side lawn, the grassy section out to the "back" and then that damn hill.  The notable change to the hill (aka the wall of death) was steps cut into the steepest portion along the right hand side of the trail/path.  The strong leaders were able to ride the hill while most mortals had to get off and run/walk/collapse up the hill.  The course then popped out along a field and snuck back around the school with lots of techy twists and (you know it if ya know the King) ... a spiral (or was it a spiroval?).
The Masters went off first with Dave Y and Jason H finishing 1st and 3rd in the 35+ group.  In the 45+ group Drummroll finished behind that Dave guy (yet again!) for 2nd.    King Karl finished 3rd in a pretty stacked 55+ group.  It was also good to see Ommegangster Gordon S out racing w/the 35+ Masters as well with a respectable showing.
The Open men's group saw Dave Y (who apparently didn't leave it all out there in his first race in the 35+ group) finish 2nd with Ommegangsters Mike K and Jeremy K also "representing" in the open race.
Further east in Northampton, MA, Skinny Phil as the lone Ommegangster jumped into 2 days of racing at the Cycle-Smart event.  Skinny noted that the New England fields are stacked with some strong dudes.
